Buy Gold in Christchurch

One troy ounce Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coin, illustrating buying gold bullion in Christchurch

Buying bullion in person is a different experience from ordering online. You see the product before you commit, you take it away the same day, and you can ask questions of someone standing in front of you. For a first purchase, or a large one, that matters.

Our showroom is at 124 Peterborough Street, Christchurch.

Why buy in person

You inspect before you pay. You can handle the product, check the packaging and the strike, and confirm it is exactly the item you intended to buy. Online that verification happens after payment.

No shipping wait or signature. Insured bullion delivery requires someone at the address to sign. Collecting in person removes both the wait and the coordination.

Questions get answered properly. Format, purity, storage and buy back are easier to work through in conversation than through a contact form, particularly if you are new to physical metals.

Larger transactions. For a substantial purchase, most people prefer to complete it face to face.

What we hold

Gold, silver, platinum, copper and titanium.

Gold includes coins from the Royal Mint, Royal Canadian Mint and US Mint, along with minted bars from Perth Mint and Germania Mint in sizes from one gram upward.

Silver includes sovereign coins such as the Maple Leaf, Philharmonic, Britannia, Kangaroo, American Eagle and Krugerrand, the NZ Mint Silver Fern round, and bars from 5oz through to 1kg.

Platinum, copper and titanium are held in round and bar formats. Copper is available in single pieces through to monster boxes, and can be struck to a custom design for businesses and events.

Stock moves, so if you want a specific item it is worth checking availability before making the trip.

What to bring and expect

Pricing updates against the spot market through the trading day, so the price of an item reflects the market at the time you buy rather than a fixed shelf price.

If you are considering a large purchase, contacting us ahead of time means we can confirm we hold the quantity you want.

Buying online instead

Online suits repeat buyers who know the product they want. Delivery is insured and tracked, and pricing moves with spot the same way. The trade off is the wait and the need to be present for a signature.

Plenty of customers do both, visiting for larger purchases and ordering online for regular additions.

Before you come in

Three things are worth deciding in advance, and each has a guide.

Format, meaning coins, rounds or bars, and what each costs you in premium and flexibility.

Pricing, meaning how the premium and the spread work, so you can assess value properly.

Storage, meaning where the metal will live once you own it. This is easier to sort before you buy than after.
